N.V. Westerscheldetunnel joined forces in Movenience
N.V. Westerscheldetunnel intends to increase the available options for the t-tag. In order to expand its t-tag services, N.V. Westerscheldetunnel joined forces with the Portuguese toll company Brisa and the Dutch company NedMobiel in June 2007 to incorporate the Movenience B.V. company.
N.V. Westerscheldetunnel’s task for the next thirty years is clear: it will ensure the profitable operation of the Westerschelde Tunnel. It also wants clients to perceive ‘going through a tunnel’ as a positive experience: getting to the other side safely, quickly and comfortably.
N.V. Westerscheldetunnel is a private company that manages one of the public highways, which means it has gained unique experience in the Netherlands with respect to toll collection, tunnel and road management and maintenance, traffic management and traffic safety. The company’s ambition is to implement this knowledge and experience in a broader sense, especially in view of the introduction of road pricing.
N.V. Westerscheldetunnel is the first toll operator to conclude a contract with Movenience. All transactions involving the t-tag will be handled by Movenience with effect from early 2010, and the two parties have concluded a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to this end.
